Jack has a unusual friend - a tree in the city gardens.
Nick is very lonely and longs to be planted next to his friend Gertrude, another tree down the path. Jack gives Nick the idea to walk. He pulls himself up by the roots and lumbers up the path. The park rangers try to stop him, hooking him up to a crane. But with the help of Jack, creatures and birds, Nick finally reaches Gertrude and plants himself next to her.
